Police seizes 48 Motorcycles loaded in Truck from Jigawa in Lagos

123 men with 48 motorcycles have been seized by the Lagos State Environment Sanitation and Special Offenses Taskforce on Friday, 30th August 2019.

The motorcycles popularly called okada were seized after the public hinted the police and were reportedly moving in from Jigawa State.

Shuaibu Haruna, one of those who was detained said he left Jigawa State to work in Lagos with his motorcycle in order to double his income so as to cater for his family.

Lagos to Jigawa estimated at 905 kilometers by road, and will take at least 19 hours but the movement has since started since Tuesday.

The mastermind behind the movement said the okadas are to be dropped at Alaba International Market while he moves back afterwards to Jigawa.

Many are condemning the acts by the police for the arrests made because they are Nigerians and should have the freedom of association and relocation but only need to abide by the regulations governing Lagos roads.
