Hon. Babatunde Hunpe, member House of Representatives for Badagry has pleaded with the officials of CGC Construction Company to employ the indigenes of the area while working on the construction of the Agbara - Badagry - Seme road.
The lawmaker urged the construction company to ensure that youths within the area are employed rather than bringing people from other parts for the repairs.
"I heard you are bringing people from Lagos to work and did not employ youths in Badagry" he reacted.
"This is not good. This is the time my people need your assistance because the boarder posts in Seme and Owode are closed and many are jobless now. When you finish the road construction, you would have boast that you have empowered over 3,000 youths in Badagry."
"Please assist them by empowering them to do manual jobs in this project so they can get money money to feed their families. Things are hard now," he concluded.
The Site Engineer, Mr. Vincent Valentine, however assured the lawmaker and urged the residents to support and cooperate with them. He also noted that about 70 people had been engaged by them.
Hunpe also urged CGC Construction Company to hasten up with the road completion and promised his support when needed.
